Living days with uncertainty, the situation is likely to take a toll on both our physical and mental wellbeing. While being in isolation can be seen as a positive opportunity to focus on ourselves, it may not be the case for most of us. As we spend more days in our homes in the middle of a pandemic, we at The Fiore wish to set a few reminders for you to take care of yourselves, especially your mental health. We are living in scary times, but we'd like to reassure you that you are not alone.

1. Establish routine.

Creating a daily schedule for you to commit to will help you remain occupied. Not only it is productive, it also helps you gain fulfilment at the end of the day. You may include activities such as:

~ Signing up for an online class,

~ Learning a new language/instrument,

~ Doing chores (add a little more fun with music!),

~ Reading a book (it's best if you can set a goal for yourself to finish at least 2 books in a week).,

~ Doing Yoga,

~ Starting a blog and create content everyday,

~ Catching up with a loved one

.. and many more! Choices are endless.

2. Stay active.

Make sure to include physical activities in your daily routine. Keeping yourself moving is proven to be very effective in maintaining a healthy mind and not just our shape! There are a lot of fun choices to keep your bodies in action. A great thing that we have discovered are the cardio exercises that you can just search up on YouTube. Dancing your heart out, regardless of being excellent at it or not, can be very therapeutic!

3. Communicate

Social distancing does not mean that we should completely distance ourselves from our loved ones. There are plenty of ways we can keep each other's company. Think of this time as a good chance to improve our relationships, where people are in need of company the most. Just because there is nothing much going on in our lives does not mean that communications will be less meaningful. Bonding with others is made especially easier because of our access to the internet. Give them a try!

Some applications we recommend are:

~ Slowly (Meet new people from all around the world and be penpals!)

~ Zoom (Who says these are for professional meetings only? You can have fun too!)

~ Skribl.io (A fun guessing game!)

~ Netflix Party

~ Zepeto (Virtually travel, shop, and take photos with friends using an avatar!)

4. Be informed.

Of course it is important to keep an eye on the news. Just make sure that your sources are reliable. The spreading of fake information can cause unnecessary panic, so avoid going into these at all costs. It is best for you to choose one or two news outlets that provide real and necessary updates on the status of the pandemic. However, it is not healthy to keep ourselves too hung up on the news. Checking at least once a day is already good enough. The last thing you'll ever want to feel is the feeling of being overwhelmed, as it is not healthy for you and your household.

Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely yours,

The Fiore
